ABOUT THE EXECUTIVE BOARD
PRESIDENT
Sabina Tong
Sabina is a Junior at the Gies College of Business, and she is currently majoring in Accountancy + Data Science. This is her sixth semester in the organization and fifth semester on the Executive Board where she previously served as Co-Membership Chair, Social Chair, and VP External. Outside of Accounting Club, she is an active member of Illini EV Concept, a course assistant in STAT207, and a peer advisor. In her free time, Sabina enjoys tennis, pickleball, coffee, and Netflix.
The President is responsible for overseeing all Executive Board members and maintaining successful communication amongst all position holders. Along with this, the President serves on the Gies Council of Presidents to create a uniform alliance between all registered student organizations in the Gies College of Business. One of the main focuses of the President should be to seek out ways of growing the club into the future, creating a strategy and direction for the club to follow each semester, as well as providing the opportunities for club members to grow closer together.
EXTERNAL VICE PRESIDENT
Jared Reyes
Jared is a Sophomore at the Gies College of Business, and he is majoring in Accountancy + Information Systems with a minor in International Business. This is his fourth semester in Accounting Club and his third semester on the Executive Board, previously serving as Operations Chair and Co-Membership Chair. On campus, he is actively involved in InterVarsity serving as a small group leader. He also works two part time campus desk jobs, one in the SDRP and the other in the BIF Student Success Lab. During his free time, Jared enjoys going to the gym, traveling, keeping up with football and baseball, Casio watches, and Legos.
The External VP is responsible for maintaining and updating the corporate sponsorship package, as well as contacting companies in an effort to form mutually beneficial relationships through the sponsorship package. Through this process, VP External actively looks for new sponsorships and handles all corporate sponsor reimbursements. VP External is also in charge of contacting and planning all professional events with companies throughout both the fall and spring semesters. The External VP continues to focus on creating and submitting the resume book to send to corporate sponsors. Lastly, VP External is in charge of distributing corporate gifts to all presenters.
INTERNAL VICE PRESIDENT
Safin saraiya
Safin is a Junior at the Gies College of Business, and he is majoring in Accountancy and Information Systems. This is his fifth semester being a part of Accounting Club and his third semester serving on the Executive Board where he has previously served as Co-Membership Chair and Philanthropy Chair. On campus, he is involved in pickleball club, chess club, and serves as a campus ambassador for KPMG. In his free time, Safin enjoys to play and watch sports, hang out with friends, and play the LinkedIn/NYT games.

The Internal VP is the main point of contact for the club. The Internal VP is responsible for organizing and sending weekly emails to all club members regarding upcoming events, items of importance, etc. In addition to this, the Internal VP is responsible for handling miscellaneous tasks to unite current members with the executive board. Furthermore, the Internal VP must contact professors in order to bring more awareness to the club.
TREASURER
Vanshi Patel
Vanshi is a Junior at the Gies College of Business, and she is majoring in Accountancy and Finance. This is her sixth semester in Accounting Club and her fourth semester on the Executive Board, previously serving as the Operations Chair, Co-membership Chair, and VP External. On campus, she is actively involved in Women in Finance Academy, Phi Eta Sigma, and Gies Ambassadors. During her free time, Vanshi enjoys badminton, Netflix, and hanging out with friends.
The Treasurer should collect all membership dues each semester and deposits any corporate checks obtained into the Busey bank account and/or the RSO account. The Treasurer must ensure that there is a sufficient amount of money in both bank accounts at all times and keep detailed record of all transactions made, to guard against any unauthorized spending within the club. Furthermore, the Treasurer must assure that the club is spending within its budget at all times. The Treasurer serves as a link between the RSO office and the Illini Union. In addition to this, the Treasurer also handles the RSO website.
PHILANTHROPY CHAIR
oLIVIA sHEEHAN
Olivia is a Junior at the Gies College of Business, and she is majoring in Accountancy with a minor in International Business. This is her fifth semester being a part of Accounting Club and her first semester serving on the Executive Board. On campus, she is actively involved in Society of Women in Business, Phi Eta Sigma, and Intramural Volleyball. She also works a part-time campus desk job in the BIF Student Success Lab. In her free time, Olivia enjoys baking, reading, volleyball, and traveling.
The Philanthropy Chair is responsible for planning and coordinating service events, such as I-Help, Illini Day of Service, paracord making, blood drives, and teddy bear decorating for children’s hospitals. At all service events, the Philanthropy Chair is in charge of leading all the club volunteers and ensuring everyone’s safety. Looking into the future, the Philanthropy Chair should focus on establishing solid relationships with local companies or individuals that the club can provide services for on a regular basis.
SOCIAL CHAIR
cALEB LEE
Caleb is a Sophomore at the Gies College of Business, and he is majoring in Accountancy + Data Science. This is his third semester in Accounting Club and his second time on the Executive Board, previously serving as Co-Membership Chair. On campus, he is actively involved in Student Consulting for Non-Profit Organizations and the American Marketing Association. During his free time, Caleb enjoys watching Netflix, playing basketball, and juggling.
The Social Chair is responsible for planning and organizing social events for the club, both for just Accounting Club members, as well as in collaboration with other organizations. This includes events like a semi-formal, barn dance, Cocomero, and burgers at Joe's. Being able to network with other organizations and the Accounting Club members is a required task of the Social Chair. All the social events planned should aim to help club members meet one another and form long-lasting relationships with each other. The Social Chair also organizes corporate social events like bowling at the Union.
CO-MEMBERSHIP CHAIR
PURAB aRORA
Purab is a freshman at the Gies College of Business, and he is currently business undecided, but plans to declare a double major in Accountancy & Information Systems. This is his second semester being a part of Accounting Club and his first semester serving on the Executive Board. On campus, he is actively involved in TEDxUIUC, UIUC4Paws, Gies Capital Association, and Marketing for Persistence Labs INC. In his free time, Purab enjoys working out, drone photography, pickleball, and reading.
The main duties of the Membership Chair include creating and maintaining the attendance point sheet. The Membership Chair must consistently generate ideas to increase companionship between members and works with members to accurately allocate attendance points. The Membership Chair also handles payments of dues at the beginning of the semester as well as create professional workshops to help develop members. This would be through Interview and Linkedin workshops.
CO-MEMBERSHIP CHAIR
ABBY MATERN
Abby is a Sophomore at the Gies College of Business, and she is majoring in Accountancy + Data Science. This is her second semester being a part of Accounting Club and her first semester serving on the Executive Board. On campus, she is a small group leader for Illini CHAARG and a member of the Data Science Club. In her free time, Abby enjoys working out and spending time with friends.

DEVELOPMENT CHAIR
RYAN BAUGHER
Ryan is a Junior at the Gies College of Business, and he is majoring in Accountancy and Information Systems. This is his fifth semester being a part of Accounting Club and his fourth semester serving on the Executive Board, previously serving as Co-Membership Chair, Philanthropy Chair, and VP Internal. On campus, he is involved in Beta Alpha Psi and a Senior Manager for the BUS 301 course. In his free time, Ryan enjoys going for walks on campus, Star Wars, and playing baseball.
The Development Chair is responsible for coordinating the semester-long mentorship program and ensuring that all members are on track towards achieving their professional goals. In addition, the development chair is in-charge of overseeing coffee chat meetings between the executive board and the active member body. Development of the members is one of the foundational goals of the Accounting club and this chair provides opportunities for professional progress.
MARKETING CHAIR
sARA SHUAIBI
Sara is a Junior at the Gies College of Business, and she is currently majoring in Accountancy and Information Systems. This is her sixth semester in the organization and her third semester on the Executive Board, previously serving as Social Chair and Public Relations Chair. Outside of Accounting Club, she is actively involved in Society of Women in Business, Gies Ambassadors, Arabic Student Association, and Intramural Soccer. She also works a managerial position at the BIF Student Success Lab. In her free time, Sara enjoys working out, shopping, playing tennis, and baking.
The main duties of the Marketing Chair include advertising Accounting Club to all members and those who are considering joining. Additionally, the Marketing Chair develops new ways to raise awareness of the club so that we can maintain our success and attract as many new members as possible. Through managing our website, designing apparel, creating corporate gifts, and developing marketing materials, the Marketing Chair is an important position.
PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIR
MANASI PATEL
Manasi is a Sophomore at the Gies College of Business, and she is majoring in Accountancy and Marketing. This is her third semester in Accounting Club and her second time on the Executive Board, previously serving as Operations Chair. On campus, she is actively involved in Society of Women in Business and Beta Alpha Psi. During her free time, Manasi enjoys painting, ceramics, matcha making, and scrapbooking.
The PR Chair is responsible for maintaining Accounting Club’s Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts. Their duties involve posting reminders for upcoming events as well as promoting the club's membership involvement. The PR Chair should also be prepared to take photos at all Accounting Club events and coordinate with other executive board members to pursue new social media initiatives.
OPERATIONS CHAIR
maeve mcginn
Maeve is a Freshman at the Gies College of Business, and she is currently still business undecided and exploring her degree opportunities. This is her second semester being a part of Accounting Club and her first semester serving on the Executive Board. On campus, she is actively involved in Society of Women in Business. In her free time, Maeve enjoys reading, drawing, and watching reality TV.
The Operations Chair is responsible for ensuring that enough food and drinks are present for all club meetings when not provided by our corporate sponsors. These would be orders with Papa John’s, Noodles & Company, Jimmy John’s, Maize, and Chipotle at events. The Operations Chair also brings all necessary materials such as plates, silverware, and cups to each meeting to make sure that food is always provided for all club members at our weekly events. An additional part of this role is putting together the corporate gifts for our sponsors before every professional meeting. Another integral part of this role is to manage the club's social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This role also assists members at events and prints items relative to each event.
